As part of the coastal risk awareness program developed in collaboration with the Basque Country Urban Community, we invite you to join us for this nature outing along the coast.
This is a short walk led by a CPIE project manager, a geomorphologist and science communicator, along the Bidassoa estuary from Caneta to the Nautical Center—an easy walk accessible to people with limited mobility.
An estuary is a rich and dynamic environment, consisting of marshes, sandbars, and lagoons; it is a stopover point highly prized by migratory birds.
However, much of the area is at risk of flooding and submersion, risks that are often exacerbated by the effects of climate change.
Be sure to bring walking shoes, outdoor clothing, a cap or hat, and a water bottle.
