This has inspired an immense diversity of gazes, from the naked eye for millennia, to telescopes more recently.

This diversity is at the origin of our modern science, with its astonishing discoveries about the universe, but it also inspired philosophy, spirituality and metaphysics, the quest for power, and the social organization of space and time, until humans conquered the sky to visit, inhabit and use it.
