Using regional and local examples, we will present the work of the archaeozoologist.

Dominique Armand will show us how animal bones discovered in Paleolithic sites contemporary with Neandertal or Homo sapiens allow us to understand: how, year-round or seasonally, each place was occupied by prehistoric people, whether to hunt a single species or a variety of animals, to carry out butchery activities or a range of other activities.

But, of course, the archaeozoologist does not work alone, and compares his findings with those of other disciplines...

Dominique Armand is a research engineer and permanent member of the PACEA laboratory, de la Préhistoire à l'Actuel, Culture, Environnement et Anthropologie - UMR 5199.
